The reason is that the publisher "2K" has chosen three players to be featured in a special version of their new basketball simulation "NBA 2K22". Dirk Nowitzki will appear on the cover of the "75th Anniversary Edition" together with the legendary athlete Kevin Durant and the all-time leading scorer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
2K Publishers is marking the 75th anniversary of the North American NBA League with three sporty and over two meters tall basketball giants. It's been able to leave that franchise in the dust, it's now standing out from its original material as claimed by Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick who said that the success of the game is no longer dependent on whether the league's doing well or it's not.
"NBA2K is now a stand-alone as an entertainment experience," he says. "Once there was a time it was a supplement to the experience. In other words, if you think back to the year 2011, there was a lockout, which affected us. However, we were in the pandemic . Obviously there was no basketball played. We did pretty well. We did better than we could have."
Fans' enthusiasm for the game is going to be tested of kinds when the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game launch. 2K Sports chose to release separate versions of the game, unlike many other titles. It's not without risk considering the small amount of installs that comes with the new system launch. Developers wanted to highlight exclusive features of these games.
Zelnick states, "The team wanted a brand new title designed from the ground up." "We consider it to be awe inspiring. There's a new experience known as the City that's The Park taken to another level. ... Our goal is to provide the most immersive game simulation and the most enjoyable cultural basketball engagement lifestyle experience. That's what NBA2K is known for."
