Welded Wire Reinforcement

Welded Wire Reinforcement may be a material made from cold-treated steel wire with concave or raised rib deformation. The wire itself is cold drawn or cold rolled through a hot rolled steel bar. The cold working process includes reduction, shaping and straightening. With the finished wire diameter, the wire is then automatically assembled and mechanically welded to make structural reinforcement made from concrete. Welded wire reinforcement, formerly called wire mesh, is produced in sheets and coils and is especially utilized in the manufacture of precast concrete parts and castings. Compared to conventional methods of inserting loose pieces of steel reinforcement, welded steel wire is an efficient, economical and practical choice for concrete reinforcement.

A wire mesh, as the name suggests, is a length of interlocking wires that form a barrier. If these connection points are periodically welded to each other at equal distances, the barrier becomes a welding wire.
