Psyonix also touched upon the upcoming release of Rocket League in China. The company has partnered with Tencent, an internet conglomerate based in Shenzhen, China. Though no official release date has been announced as of yet, Psyonix claims the full release is “fast approaching.” Another hot topic mentioned in the post was the status of RocketID, the upcoming cross-platform party system for the game. While the original goal was to have RocketID up and running by the end of the year, the announcement revealed the decision to push the release to early 2019.

Psyonix stated that the announcement of Sony’s cross-platform functionality contributed to the delay. “We can now make additional changes to prepare RocketID for ALL platforms should we receive permission to do so! We’re working incredibly hard to ensure that it’s as intuitive, stable, and polished as possible, before releasing it to the world.” While PS4 players have been able to cross-play with PC players for a while now, players are excited for the opportunity for full cross-platform play as well as party functionality.

Psyonix stated that Enhanced Xbox One X support is coming as early as December of this year. This will include 4K at 60 frames-per-second as well as HDR support. December will also mark the return of the holiday event, Frosty Fest. This event will run very similarly to Haunted Hallows, where players will earn special currency in online matches, called Snowflakes, to be spent on limited time event items.
