SC Orders Kris Aquino to Return “Imelda Marcos Diamond Necklace” She Borrowed from Malacañang During Pnoy’s Term

The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday released a 2-page memo ordering the Queen of all Media Kris Aquino to return the diamond necklace she borrowed from Malacañang.

The memo said Aquino should return the necklace as soon as possible as the one-year period the Palace gave her to temporarily used the necklace has already expired on November 2016.

Aquino used the necklace at the 2015 APEC CEO Summit held on 16–18 November at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.

The controversial necklace was previously owned by former First Lady Imelda Marcos and was left to the palace as it was included in the alleged ill-gotten wealth. But Mrs. Marcos on several interviews said the necklace was custom-designed for her by a late French jeweler.

Former President Benigno Aquino III let his little sister borrowed the necklace for one year but the high court said there is no sign the Ms. Aquino is interested on returning the $1.2M Imelda Marcos diamond necklace.

SC warned that Aquino my face qualified theft and other charges if she continue to resist SC order and refuse to return the necklace.

The high court’s decision is an immediate answer to a complaint filed by the PCGG last month.
Aquino refuse to comment as of press time although she previously denied that she borrowed the necklace despite photos of her wearing the jewelry went viral online.
