Best Romance Movies To Watch With A Guy

It is a call from every man to his beloved wife or girlfriend to let us engage in the best romantic movies to watch.

It is a call from every man to his beloved wife or girlfriend to let us engage in the best romantic movies to watch. Us men would watch the movie Overboard and Fifty First Dates, maybe I should elaborate on that.

It is a fact that women dress their best to please other women and men dress their best to please women. With this in mind, men will do anything to please women. Even watch romantic movies with our favorite girl. “Romantic” films that men will never watch alone and certainly never with their friends.

Of course, us men will say yes to a romantic movie with you, but ladies, you have to understand that men (and I think I'm talking about most of us) have short attention spans when it comes to movies . If the movie doesn't have a car chase, a shootout, lots of gore and gore, a loud comedy, or a bikini or two, our male minds will wander elsewhere. Which reminds me, please don't ask us about that romantic movie we just saw.

So what do you say in our next pick for Best Romantic Movie that we're compromising and picking a Romantic/Comedy or Romantic/Action or Romantic/Comedy/Action movie? Bikinis are not a priority!

Actually, I really like the Overboard movie and Fifty First Dates, but other than that, I have some other best romantic movie list suggestions here...

Overboard - 1987

Starring: Kurt Russel as Dean Proffitt, Goldie Hawn as Joanna Stayton. Also Michael Hagerty, Edward Herrmann, Katherine Helmond.

Rich and dirty snob Joanna Stayton and her husband Grant Stayton III disembark from their yacht in a small port in Oregon. Spoiled brat Joanna hires one of the locals to build a wardrobe on her yacht. Dean Proffitt built the wardrobe, argued with Joanna, and was kicked off the yacht, unpaid and a bit distraught. Suddenly Mrs. Stayton falls overboard and no one on the yacht notices. With a severe case of amnesia, Joanna Stayton was found and later put on local television. Dean Proffitt, the failed carpenter, sees this opportunity for revenge and the boys sit down, convince the once very wealthy Mrs. Stayton that her name is Annie Proffitt and that she is his wife and also the mother of four naughty children. Proffitt's plan works for a while before he remembers. Very funny movie, must see.

Romancing the Stone - 1984

Starring: Micheal Douglas as Jack Colton, Kathleen Turner as Joan Wilder, Danny DeVito as Ralph.

With a mysterious map in hand, romance novelist Joan Wilder arrives from New York and finds herself in the rural jungles of Columbia. He is nearly killed by the people of Zolo, who are led by a corrupt Colombian policeman, and is saved by some kind of American bully hero, Jack T. Colton. Jack agrees to take Joan back to civilization, to a safe place with additional obstacles, such as the most wanted emerald, the mysterious map, and a crook named Ralph who is on their trail. This thrilling jungle adventure offers plenty of action, comedy and romance.

Always - 1989

With: Richard Dreyfuss, John Goodman, Holly Hunter.

Steven Spielberg directed this romantic fantasy film about an aerial firefighter who dies in an accident and leaves behind a very distraught girlfriend. The pilot returns as a ghost and helps a rookie become the best firefighter pilot, but the rookie falls in love with the dead pilot's girlfriend. A very moving film, but which also has action and comedy.

Fifty First Dates - 19

Starring: Adam Sandler as Henry Roth, Drew Barrymore as Lucy Whitemore, Sean Astin and Blake Clark as Lucy and Rob Schneider's brother and father.

Among the best romantic movies to watch, this one looks more at women's choices than men's. The comedy certainly helps the man love it too.

In a Hawaiian paradise, freewheeling womanizer Henry Roth meets Lucy Whitemore and immediately hits it off. The next day when seeing Henry, Lucy doesn't remember anything. She has short-term memory loss. Lucy's dad and brother recreate every day just for her with a birthday and all. Each day repeats itself over and over again as if it were a completely new day. Good fun movie and so romantic.

The Proposal - 2009

Starring: Ryan Reynolds as Andrew Paxton, Sandra Bullock as Margaret Tate, Craig T. Nelson, Mary Steenburgen, Betty White.

Margaret Tate is a strict editor for a New York publishing house. Canadian Margaret faces deportation due to her expiring visa and decides to marry her slave Andrew Paxton on the promise of a high promotion, which he accepts. Funny goofy humor, a great romantic comedy.

Wedding on wedding - 2005

Starring: Owen Wilson as John Beckwith, Vince Vaughn as Jeremy Gray, Rachel McAdams, Isla Fisher, Christopher Walken.

Jeremy Gray and John Beckwith are longtime friends and business partners as divorce mediators. These two intensely share a unique hobby. Marriages clash from all walks of life and all religions. Having fun for free and meeting girls is what it's all about. While investigating the crash of the upcoming wedding, John and Jeremy find themselves in a lavish affair where they meet two wealthy girls, Claire and Gloria Cleary, and of course fall in love with them. This leads them to a large estate on an island where these girls reside. This is where the trouble begins and John and Jeremy's "wedding guest" lies don't work. More comedy than romance in this hilarious film. I would say that this film oscillates more towards a film of men.

OK, Wedding Crashers may or may not be set to be a romantic movie. But the movie Overboard and Fifty First Dates definitely fall within the parameters of one of the best romantic movies. Watch one of these movies with your loved one for a quiet, romantic evening. I'm sure you won't regret it.
