FIFA and Madden NFL franchises will be another example of the additional costs that next-generation technology will bring to games. Since some publishers now feel that they can offer Xbox Series X|S and PS5 games for $70 instead of $60, the cost of the latest gaming experience is rising. The next generation of upgrades to older games may come at a price, as seen in the PlayStation Plus version of GreedFall and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Although games like Subnautica provide next-generation upgrades without strings attached, FIFA 22 and Madden NFL 22 will be different beasts.
