2K Sports announces that Candace Parker, Chicago Sky player has been featured on the cover of NBA 2K22. This marks Candace Parker as the first female and first WNBA player to be on a cover for NBA 2K22. GameStop is the only store to have the cover.

The cover is to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the WNBA. Yesterday was the first day to announce the release. The cover also features Luka Don'i?, Kareem AbdelJabbar and Dirk Nowitzki. Kevin Durant is also featured.

Parker tweeted that Parker is "extremely satisfied to be the first female cover athlete" in @NBA2K's history. "I'm humbled to be part of an organization that is committed to women and is committed to our progress. I wish that women who are honest will follow my lead."

Parker, who plays for Chicago Sky and won two Olympic gold medals. She is the 2nd player to score a dunk in the WNBA game. She was also awarded multiple MVP Awards and a title. She also admitted to ESPN that she is a player.

NBA 2K 20 was the first time that the WNBA was added to NBA 2K. So far, a WNBA member hasn't been on the cover. The latest "NBA 2K" that features Luka Doncic (Japan Limited Edition) is scheduled to arrive on the 10th of September 2021.
