I for one am spending cash on VC. Especially since there is no more"grind" left in NBA 2K21. At this point I'm just having a little fun in TTO and boundless, playing. 2K waiting to 2K MT release the cards is a money grab. I know the company side of things but I believe they'd make more if they gave us enough time.
This appears to be a good idea in theory, but you would know that its awful not having content for this long this year, if you played MUT. Myteam and I play with to escape out of mut not to relive it. The previous 3-4 MUTs have had massive content droughts at some point or another. It's the reason I quit playing that manner last year. 1 thing 2K cannot touch MUT on is Draft Champions (I believe that is what it is called) 2K definitely requires a draft style next year. I honestly think whenever they don't revamp MyCareer and MyTeam, I will skip 2K21.
It's been because the neighborhood's invention. MyTeam needs more game modes, also MyCareer has been since the neighborhood's invention. I never actually played draft champs because it has ever been easy to put together a decent team. Even though 2K has dribble glitching and AI abuse, it's nothing like playing against Near Close Flex and Gun Bunch and I Form stretch runs every game. I can deal with CPU defense, after all, I needed to beat on the Bird and Curry challenges. Cheesers / Spammers / Glitchers make ANY game not fun. I guess it's all taste on what you'd rather deal with at the end of the day lol.
Back in Mut I thought,"I'm going to learn how to use all of the right plays depending on the opponent's line up and patterns and strengths and weaknesses." It was 3 plays - corner paths, FB dip, or elongate runs. On defense it was a mix but mostly was putting up soft squats and picking the corner routes and usering to stuff the run or bump the recipients. In 2K it is essentially mitigating the CPU's idiocy by a mix of off-ball and on-ball so that you can intercept passes, block a lane to the basket, or only keep your man from idiotically double-teaming someone (at least in TTO). Once in a while somebody begins to post-cheese or something and you're in a catch 22.
If you a team-mate WILL help you, if you off-ball they'll stand there to depart a post-fade wide open. I prefer 2K though as there's more action on the sticks general, whereas madden is about pre-play. Why do they do that if they can squeeze more dollars out of every child that got hooked on launching packs seeing twitch? Well Im not saying give us LESS packs. They can drop the amount of cards / packs to create the same quantity of money.
Drop them more frequently earlier. This way end game titles may be used for Buy NBA 2K MT more than a month. I honestly believe that they can earn money that way. Later in the year packs that are superb can drop / evo packs / and duo packs to boost sales on previously released cards. I'm not buying VC this overdue at NBA 2K21, but had a few of those new cards dropped 2 months ago, I probably would have.
