"I think the roadmap is perhaps Mut 22 coins a bit smaller than the previous ones because we're really focusing on a handful of core segments in Madden 22 and we are also getting underway on Madden 23 in a big manner," Graddy said at the time. "So I'm going to stick with what we've been saying for the past few years"we're a live game and we'll continue to improve the game, but we're not going to be talking about a brand new mode."

The report received attention partly due to franchise mode, which is a sore point with some Madden fans. In fact, the roadmap was originally a response to the #fixmaddenfranchise hashtag that was circulated on Twitter in mid-2020, which was initiated following reports that EA did not plan improvements to franchise mode that year.

Since since then, EA has released new commissioner tools and also other enhancements, including a major overhaul of its scouting system. Madden 22 also featured an expanded scene engine, cutscenes from the season and coaching skill trees. But, players continue point to various areas where franchise mode is able to make improvements relative to the competition, due to the lack of customization , to the multitude of bugs.

Although EA Sports wouldn't provide any additional information, it is possible that additional improvements are still on track for an upcoming date. The changes could include expansion of franchises and improvements in the original plan for Madden 22. Expect more details in 2022.
