A Makati court has upheld its earlier decision ordering the arrest of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV for rebellion.

In junking Trillanes appeal of the Sept. 2018 order, Branch 150 Judge Elmo Alameda noted the senator did not raise any new issues in his motion for reconsideration.

Alameda had ordered Trillanes arrested after ruling Proclamation no. 572, which declared the amnesty granted to Trillanes for his role in the Oakwood mutiny and Peninsula Manila siege in 2003 and 2007, respectively, void ab initio, was legal.

In the September order, the judge essentially gave credence to the prosecutors argument the previous dismissal of the rebellion case against Trillanes as a result of the amnesty therefore no longer holds.

Trillanes is currently out on bail.
