Destroying universes is not a big thing in anime. Characters from Dragon Ball and Naruto have destroyed multiple universes to prove themselves again and again. But we are not talking about these characters’ fictional worlds that don’t impact real human beings in the story. Here are five anime shows where normal-looking human beings destroy the universe.
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K
Saiki is no stranger to comedy anime fanatics. This series needs no introduction because even if there is an introduction to the series, nobody will understand its premises. Saiki Kusuo is one of the most OP characters in anime history, but he never wanted to be like this in the first place.
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K is a rollercoaster ride of utter enjoyment and dopamine that doesn’t seem to mix well with your average comedy show. There were multiple instances where Saiki destroyed the universe in The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
After losing his hair clip, Saiki loses control of his psychic powers and wipes out the entire universe. After sleeping too long, Saiki destroys the universe. There were several other instances where Saiki created several other galaxies as well, and the one he is living now is also a replica of the real universe.
The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya
How often do you see an anime character so bored that they unconsciously destroy the whole universe? Well, here is Haruhi Suzumiya, who possesses the powers of a god, but it wouldn’t be fair to call it just powers because she is a god herself.
After destroying the world three years ago, where the protagonist, Kyon, was dragged into the SOS Brigade club of the school. He finds himself around some unearthly club mates who want to pursue Haruhi Suzumiya so that she won’t make the universe perish twice.
The series is confusing to the point where you might have to write down each event with a pen and a paper to connect all the dots to understand the story.
Akira
Akira is undoubtedly the epitome of storytelling, and the show is perceived as the pioneer of modern-day fantasy cinema. The story and the characters were so gripping that one can relate to the frustration of Tetsuo Shima and why he wanted to destroy the universe.
Akira starts in dystopian settings in Japan. Tokyo’s city is crumbling down with dropouts, delinquents, corrupt government officers, drugs alcohol addiction, and human experiments. After gaining monstrous powers from the government experiments, Tetsuo Shima turns against the world to take revenge.
In search of power and control, he destroys the whole universe to become the last man standing in the crippling world of corruption and ignorance.
Re: Starting Life From Zero in a Different World
Only god knows how many times Natsuki Subaru had died in Re: Starting Life From Zero in a Different World. Since the show is his Isekia, Subaru is expected to gain powers and skills as he levels up in the front. Still, Tappei Nagatsuki made Subaru a miserable character from the start, and his universe ends every time he dies and restarts every time from a savepoint in his life.
Natsuki Subaru doesn’t have any skills, powers, or athletic abilities but living in the Irlam Village for some years made him realize that the only thing he can do to protect everyone is to die again and again for eternity. It is a pretty embarrassing ability for an Isekai protagonist to die whenever his comrades need him the most.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
Jojo is a meme, it is a legend, and a masterpiece of an anime series that it is often referred to as ‘it is so bad that it is good.’ In the manga, the sixth arc of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, the baddest stand user, Enrico Pucci, plans to exterminate the universe with his stand, Made in Heaven, and he wishes to continue Dio’s demands of eradicating the joestar family.
Enrico Pucci Stand is so powerful that he can manipulate time, space, and speed of universe transformation to his wishes. He uses his powers two times, and the whole universe gets destroyed and gets rebuilt again. To break this cycle of continuous manipulation, Emporio kills Pucci with his abnormal Stand ghost room and Burning Down the House.
