If they don't wish to keep track of RS gold stuff, then cut the golden treasure in half as they don't want it for equipment. Don't permit any magic items to be sold, other than scrolls and potions. And, if they need something while out adventuring, roll 4d6 under your Wis to see if you thought to purchase it and deliver it. Great luck with them. This seems like the thing to do. 5e appears to look at your players boxes all, and trying to shoehorn them may not go over well. The group I DM for has in leaving 5e zero interest, so I needed to locate a set to get my OSRS jollies out of. But if I get to the point it is bust or old-school and you are at, I'd lay down a law. "If you like me to DM, we gotta play X system cause that is where my enjoyment comes from. If you'd like a different system I'll help share some resources or get you installation, but somebody else is going to conduct that game"

They may come around. After 6 weeks of nothing but board games or not meeting, a few of them acknowledged that they were being covetous. They still want a"super hero" fashion game however. If your players don't like RuneScape you would like to run then there is no point trying to force yourself to find something that works as you're the one doing the hard work for no actual reason. OSRS and 5E seem similar but they are completely different games. 5E is basically a super hero sport and OSRS matches are dream. If you wish to play with a traditional fantasy game and your players need to play Marvel The Avengers no amount of home rules or distinct systems can really solve it. Just find things to do together with boardgames, that group or some thing, and search. Best thing I did was quit my team and begin running people that appreciated them OSRS matches.

What have you been playing? Neither are epic fantasy independently, although Whitehack and the Black Hack are both fairly low-key. If your players all want to play 5e, it seems appropriate to either run that or possess among these DM it, or else find a new play group (and I understand that the latter two are probably just not real choices ). Is the system that you're using the deal breaker for them, or is your issue more which they're looking for a more heroic fantasy feel and do not care if they are using the same system as Crucial Role? Are they the kind of players that enjoy"building characters" (getting skills and abilities by leveling up) from the video game feel? 5e appears like the thing to do, if that's the case. If not, seems like altering the kinds of adventures and becoming particular with certain rules you move on may be adequate.

You may attempt to perform something not as crunchy and more narratively concentrated. I've enjoyed what I have read of dungeon world as well. There is also the Fate system which I've also heard great things about narrative focus too. Regrettably I don't have too much experience playing with these, because it is quite tough to get my friends to try stuff besides DnD. He enjoyed the focus on character customization and advancement the foci supplied. The founder, Kevin Crawford, also appears to be working on a pure dream version called Worlds Without Number as well with a similar attention system. His system that is beta can attempt. He has also got a couple more systems that I believe are interesting, like Godbound where you play as demigods combating demigod degree threats, or Scarlet Heroes which is a system created for low player count parties to create shooting one or two PCs in cheap OSRS gold more workable.
